What CPP Certified Means to You

Continuing Education is required to maintain various types of certifications. Federal Concierge produces many events, conferences and training courses for the Federal CPIC Forum as well as various agencies and companies. These activities may count as continuing education credit in an acceptable form for maintaining professional certification standards. In some cases, Federal Concierge will provide a courtesy certificate with attendance, or will offer the attendee the option to register for a customized, detailed certificate at the time of registration. The attendee may always opt to self-report attendance. Federal Concierge maintains registration rosters for up to five (5) years.

Federal Concierge, LLC offers CLPs for our training. Our events and activities such as conferences, SIGs, and training would qualify for CLPs. CLP reciprocity for other credit equivalents is accepted by many accrediting organizations. For instance, PDUs, or Professional Development Units, are issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to quantify the professional development activities that their credential holders must participate in to maintain their certifications (PMP, PgMP, PMI-SP, etc.). CLPs, or Continuous Learning Points are required for maintaining the Federal Acquisition Certification (FAC). The Capital Planning Professional Certification (CPP) requires CLPs to be reported. Other certification materials may be offered using CEU's, or Continuing Education Units. Many of these equivalencies are interchangeable, with proper documentation that the learning objectives were met and the course or activity was completed in an acceptable manner.

Since many CPP professionals and/ or attendees are also credentialed through PMI, many members ask if we offer PDU's. PMI members can submit qualifying activities directly with PMI. Qualifying activities must be related to project management topics and adhere to the knowledge areas and guidelines outlined in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide).

PMI organizes PDU/CPP/CLPs into five categories. In order for attendees of Federal Concierge's events to obtain PDUs for their activities, they will need to submit activities directly to PMI under Category 2, Category 4 or Category 5 in accordance with the PMP Credential Handbook.
